Hybrid system failure

I have a 2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE AWD which has had two occurrences of a complete Hybrid System Failure / Check Engine / Emergency Brake failure event. The car has 1,090 miles on it and except for the spare tire issue that everyone talks about has been a pleasure to drive but this new occurrence is awful. The first event was on 4/5/2024 on my driveway. Press the brake pedal, push start and immediately received "emergency brake system failure". I shut down the system and tried to restart it and received the "hybrid system failure", contact Toyota Service.

This went on for 30 minutes during which every warning light that could come on did and the car would not move an inch. I waited 5-10 minutes before trying again and then, the car started as normal. The next morning, I received a phone call from my Toyota dealer asking me if I was in an accident and OK? The car had reported all the error codes to the service department on its own. Everything was fine without any issues for the or the next three days and then on 4/9/2024 while out shopping the event repeated. Thankfully, this time the car would at least drive all the while displaying the "hybrid system failure" alarm. I drove directly to my Toyota dealership and pulled right into their service bay.

After waiting for two hours, the service rep came out and handed me my keys and a report that reads "Tech could not find a current issue did find history codes recommends coming back if issue persists".

Wonderful !!

Dealer has determined that the problem is with the positive battery terminal which is on order to be replaced. It was not in full contact with the battery due to a defect. My dealer has given me a 2024 Corolla Hatchback XSE as a loaner until the part comes and they can perform a full diagnosis of the vehicle.

This is very similar to what I am currently going through. I got my CC Hybrid just before March and on April 1st got 6 emergency messages on my display. And yet everything was working fine otherwise. I got back into town the next day and took it in. Service spent the entire day diagnosing the issue and going through the codes, etc. Everything cleared and fine until 3 weeks later it happened again. Exact same issue. Back in the Toyota garage. Parts on order this time. They still don't have an exact idea what's triggering this.
With everyone's similar and repetitive issues, has anyone tried to file a lemon law claim? Or at least get either a refund or car exchange from the Toyota dealer?

Until I lost all electrical power and needed to be towed to my Toyota dealer, they never looked at the 12vdc battery in the back passenger area of the SUV. Instead they focused under the hood and could not replicate the problem. Finaly, they found that the positive cable was defective and needed to be replaced.

When the tech did see it, they thought that perhaps the tow-truck operator damaged it but when I reminded them that he could not access the battery and had to jump start the vehicle using the terminal in the fuse box under the hood, they dropped that line.

I've been golden since the battery cable was replaced.

I actually have this same exactly issues and currently my car in the workshop for repairs.. at first the service enter inform only battery 12v issues and need to replaced. Then when I come and picked up the car the problem still unsolved and now it’s been 3 days in service centre and they did find the problem but still need to wait for spare parts to come.. it’s better to towing if the problem persist and let them find the problem..
