Wireless Android Auto dongle Motorola Ma1 works great. I don't think I saw this yet thread yet. Mine phone (Samsung fold3) takes about 10 secs to boot to AA wirelessly from turning the car on. Had no disconnects. Battery drain I'm not sure of since I had AA wirelessly built into my last car.

if you still have to plug your phone into this dongle, what is the difference to plugging it into the usb port in your car? Just wondering.

The dongle plugs into the car, you use Bluetooth to connect to the dongle and it allows wireless AA to your car. No more cords needed for Android Auto.

Doesn't require usb cord from phone to car. Phone connects Bluetooth to Dongle which connects wireless to car. Should be able to stream music and use Maps simultaneously.

I am not sure I understand the need for a dongle. Any recently built car will wirelessly hook up via Bluetooth. Why the need for another device?
Even my 2012 Scion xB will do that.

I'm not referring to Bluetooth for sound/calling. Carplay/Android auto for navigation. Requires your phone to be plugged but with the dongle, you don't need a cord anymore.

technically you are still plugging your phone into something, the dongle, which has to be charged. still easier to use the cord for android auto

You don't have to plug your phone into it. You just have an extra device, the dongle. plugged into your car usb port......in place of your phone being plugged into that port.
