Will a road bike fit in the trunk with the seats down?

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me if they've been able to fit an adult road bike (wheels attached) in the trunk with the back seats down?

I'd prefer to have the bike inside the car instead of an external bike rack or carrier and would like to know if others have done this.

Thank you.

My Trek FX3 road bike won't fit in my CC unless I lay it down. If you remove the front wheel (which I don't like to do) it will probably fit standing up using a clamp for the fork, since the front fork will be angled down and lower the seat enough to clear the roof.

My bike shop recommended getting a trailer hitch and a rack to fit it. I'm not interested in adding a hitch though. I have an old Blackburn rack that straps to the back hatch door; it works okay for short trips.
Enjoy your CC!!!

What is the length of the bike? The space with the rear seats down is 67" (170cm) long.

Thank you, just measured it at 168cm. I won't mind if it sits flat so it should fit.
