I have an LE, able to secure from dealers inventory in early February. Couple of gripes:
1. Headlights on are supposed to dim Infotainment display, doesn’t on mine.
Home appliance Audio equipment Font Gas Automotive design

2. Tire pressures don’t display. I have followed every bit of advice on the net.
these nits are probably due to an out of date software.

Well, even out of date software should still have worked. It sounds worse than that, and consistent with known weakness of recent Toyota interior electronics. I don't have my Cross yet, so can't verify if there is some particular condition that may affect the dimming with lights on (for example, it shouldn't dim in the daytime even with lights on, at least my prior Toyota didn't) but tire pressure should have no tricks, besides needing to drive a bit before it gets it data in order.

In both my 2012 Scion and my 2015 RAV4, the dash lights dim when headlights are on during the day. I never understood why, but I think it is a plus that they do not dim on the Cross.

Not really a plus, the infotainment display is bright as any tablet, way too distracting to drive at night without dimming. There is an option to switch between day and night except it doesn’t work on my TCC. do you you have a Cross?

Don’t all Toyota have dimmer switch to adjust the intensity of the dash lights so they would never be too bright. Seems the best solution to fit all tastes.
But I was referring to daytime normal brightness with headlights on. Some things on the dash cannot be read with the headlights on with other Toyotas.
