I've got the same problem. I have a 2022 XLE and started out having a whistling noise at different speeds and depending on blowing winds. The left front rail above windshield was raised up catching the wind and making noise. The dealer replaced the rail and noise stopped. But the rails will lift, kinda curl up especially at the rear depending on temperature. I think there is one bolt under each cover where the crossbars would be attached. The remainder of the rail is held on by double-sided tape. My thought either the tape being used is no good or the rails are a poor design. Its a problem Toyota needs to fix!

I took my Cross to the dealer today for the passenger air bag recall. Checked out good and not needing to be replaced. I asked about the ongoing problem with the roof rails. The service manager said no word from Toyota yet and that the roof rails were junk. I sent a complaint to Toyota three weeks ago. Toyota received it and I haven't heard anything else. I do expect Toyota to do something about this rail issue. I think there are enough customers complaining that at least a service bulletin will be issued. I doubt a recall would be issued. I will post anything coming from Toyota.
