while washing the vehicle for the first time I discovered the roof rails on both sides moved (wiggled) when using my wash brush. The passenger side moved more then the drivers side. I could lift up the rails rear portion at least one inch on the passengers side and 1/2 inch on the drivers side.
Took it to the local dealership and they said this is there first time seeing this issue. They say they will call Toyota doing a working day and let me know what they say it is.
Any body have is issue?

I still have a problem with the rails. They replaced them twice with new rails at the repair shop, but the left one continues to lift slightly. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
we brought a 2023 Cross from our local dealership and discovered loose roof rails during a home car wash. One side was looser than the other. Brought to the dealership’s attention and discovered from the shop foreman we weren’t the only ones. The shop foreman suggested replacing both sides whish was done over the next 30 days. So far both new rails are holding firmly however since this rail issue I’ve discovered the manufacturer doesn’t offer any accessories to hold things. No cross bars, No rood racks for luggage, containers, bikes anything of the likes only for looks. If you want to haul things on the roof you need to upgrade to the RAV4, Highlander or Sequoia SUV’s

Somewhere on this thread I’ve complained anout my roofrails. One was very loose and other was so so. Local shop foreman was already aware due to another case. Call to Plano Texas Toyota supply depot sent left & right rails. Right was replaced and left wasn't tightened at factory so was tied up. Both are much better. After reviewing the build your own “cross” website I do not find any plcs showing cross bars or any accessories for the roof rails. Are they met not to carry anything on the roof? Only cosmetic??

Thank you for taking the time to write your experience
Update om my original posting that started this loose railing post. I received a call from the dealerships shop-foreman ie: Toyota told him that the loose railing is suspose to be that way as its a “floating railing” really? I don’t think that a floating railing is a safe for the driver or the public. Wonder what the Highway safety board would about that statement? Anyway we are going through with a total railing replacement before asking that a factory rep come inspect.

I have been paying attention to other Toyota Cross when I see them which isn’t often but since my last update I’ve seen three tow of the vehicles also have loose rails (which the occupant was unaware of & will check with their respective Toyota dealership) then three days prior to this posting I saw another Cross pull right up next to my while in San Jose, Ca. Asked if I could check the rails out after explaining my issue which he allowed. BINGO solid as a rock!! I said to myself that’s it going back to my dealership and push some buttons. Absolutely no reason for this runaround. And I do go back to the dealership & asked where are the replacement parts? Was told “on back order” I went Ballistic on the service representative and parts department as I felt this was a cop-out response. Then the shop foremen came out and after listening to my rant he suggested calling Toyota’s 1-800 complaint number in Plano Texas which I did and to my delight within four days I got a text message that the replacement rails have been sent. Local dealer also confirmed shipment.
