Its my first winter with my CC 2022. I'm encountering an annoying issue with the lift gate with ice buildup at the hinges. Every time I open the lift gate I hear a crunching sound of the lift gate edge pressing into the ice/snow. If not cleared it also reduces the lifting range. I try to clear the area the best I can with my snow brush. I recently sprayed some lithium grease around the hinges to prevent any ice buildup. I will see in the coming weeks if it helps. In trying to resolve this issue, I came across the below trim seal which may resolve the issue for next season.
Is anyone encountering similar issue?

Good idea on the trim seal, just wonder how it sticks in place? (double sided tape?) A possible $20 solution on a 35k+ vehichle.
I've also encountered a problem of ice buildup on the rear bumper which actually prevents the rear hatch from opening. I'm hesitant to bang/chip away at the ice due to all those friggin expensive sensors in the rear bumper which cause their fair share of erroneous errors in the winter due to ice/snow buildup (I now keep them off in the winter, the front ones too) Gotta luv our winters.

Yes!! So glad you posted this. I thought I was the only one. The ice build up has gotten so bad I am unable to open the hatch. Where I live in the states it’s common to get several feet of snow at a time and it makes using the rear hatch impossible.

Where did you buy the trim seal and how is it going?
