How do software updates get pushed to the end user?

When this "Wipers and Auto Start/Stop" issue is finally fixed via a software update, how do I go about getting this update?

You will probably have to take your Cross in to the dealer for them to do the update by plugging in to the OBD computer. I don't think Toyota does OTA (Over The Air) updates via WiFi or the Toyota app. but it's possible.

It looks like there's a section for software updates in the Toyota App.

Toyota App > Hit the arrow next to the VIN number or nickname of the car > scroll down to Vehicle Software > it turns into Software Update.

For now, it says that "Your Software is Up to Date".

Hopefully, that changes by the end of this month and it allows you to update the software via the phone somehow.

How will the car download the update?

From the phone?

There's some WiFi component in the car, right?
