I need help guys. I’m in the process of replacing my horns for a better sounding one. The toyota parts catalog shows it has two horns. One behind the grill and the other one under the driver side headlights. I’ve been at it for a while and I didn’t see the one under the headlights. Could it be in a different location? Unplugged the center one and tried the horn…no sound. Does this mean there is only one horn for US versions?

Maybe. But I can’t find it. It must be buried down there somewhere. I think some corollas and yaris’ have single horns too. That’s why you can buy 1-2 conversion kits specifically for toyotas. An ebay seller has oe toyota conversion kits that has all wires, horns and brackets. I would have gotten that but I already ordered Hellas on amazon.

Delayed shipping from Amazon so no hella horns yet but I did get the rubber seals I ordered. Got bored so installed it in between the headlights and hood. The gap is so big that owners complain of dirt and water coming from there. There is a black plastic inside the headlights that aligns with the end of the hood so the rubber seal is easy to install. Wish I can stick it on the hood itself but it won’t work.

I read somewhere the gap was designed to keep a collision of the front from smashing the headlight assembly?

Holes at the bottom side of the hood makes me think that it has some sort of seal in other parts of the world. But I could be wrong. :) The rav4 has it but they did not install it on US version gas variants, not sure about the hybrids. It’s called a headlight lens seal protector and you can order it from Toyota.. It uses double sided tape and is attached to the headlights. Sadly nothing for the corolla cross.

Finally was able to install the wiring harness and hella horns today. Everything was plug and play. You can see in the pics that there was a spot for a second horn which Toyota didn’t install from the factory.

Just need to lift up the pastic covers in between the grill and radiator support frame. You need a flat head screwdriver to release the clips on both sides. If you are not handy with doing a little car work then better not mess with it. But on a scale of 1-10 and 10 being hardest it’s a 1. 😁
