Just dropping a little info on me, I recently purchased a 2022 Corolla Cross L. It's the first real Toyota in our family. Before this we had and have 2006 Pontiac Vibe which is the basic knockoff Matrix. I loved my Vibes, that 1.8l toyota engine has yielded me 300,000 + miles and still never used any oil between changes. Had the salt not destroyed the car i'd still be driving it.. ok ok i know enough on the Vibe. So I bought a used Cross L AWD and it is similar in the things i'm use to. well that transmission is a little odd getting use to as well as the automatic shutting the engine off at red lights. I hate that feature. Oh I know, you can hit the button and turn it off.. EVERYTIME you start the car... it's just a mindeset for me when a car stalls at a light, panic sets in. I also noticed when i was test driving the car it had navigation on the radio, but then when i bought the car it said that app wasn't installed. I'm not sure how that happens, maybe it's a subscription or something that I have not read up on as yet. I bought some door windo rain guards, door bumper guards, and a Fog light installation kit which I have not installed as yet. I'm going to look and see how much work that is probably tomorrow. In any rate about myself, I'm a lifetime general auto mechanic. I also raced ATV's and motocross since i was 6 up until i was in my 30's. I'm very mechanically inclined but havent had a lot of time with most newer cars since most are under warrantee and there was no reason for people to bring those to a general service garage. That's about it on me, hopefully I can pick up tips and tricks here as well as diagnostic help when needed. peace out.

I have a 2023 Corolla Cross, but hopefully this info also works for your 2022 Cross. The navigation on the app is an extra subscription-based option that you must buy. Instead of doing that, I paired the car and the phone so that I can use Android Auto. Once I did that and installed the free Waze app on my phone, the Waze navigation appears on the car's screen. I have not had the car long enough to tell if that setup is going to work when I am out of range for the cell phone, but I assume that it will not work in that case.
