Picked up our new white pearl '23 AWD XLE last week.

This is our first real Toyota to own. My wife has been driving a Rav4 for about 6 months now as her company car, and we really liked that a lot, so we bought a Cross...sort of a mini-Rav I guess.

Ours has the JBL, and the auto-leveling headlights, which seem to steer back and forth on turns. Pretty handy when driving mountain roads, which we do a LOT! This car will spend a much time in the Colorado Rockies.

Really glad I found this forum! Looks like there's loads of good info presented here. Looking forward to reading through some of the threads. We usually keep cars till they no longer go, so tips for longer life are what I seek. I already plan on doing the oil and filter changes at 5k.

This is the first time I've seen 0W-16 motor oil. The dealer suggests that I stay with the Toyota branded oil, even though it's made by Mobil 1.

Congrats, I have the same vehicle, I really like mine, great SUV. I have owned 2 Camrys, presently have a 2014 Sienna handicap van, plus the Cross and I have not had the slightest problem with any of them.
I would continue to do oil changes every 5K which is the interval I have always used regardless of the manufacturer's recommendation if you intend to keep it long term.
BTW, break it in correctly.

Also, supposedly Toyota oil has some extra additives other synthetics don't have.

Hi, Welcome from a new member. Greetings on your brand-new '23 AWD XLE. You appear to have chosen wisely to drive through the Colorado Rockies. For those hilly roads, the auto-leveling headlights sound like a great feature. Toyota advises using their own brand of 0W-16 motor oil, which is produced by Mobil 1. Following the manufacturer's maintenance guidelines is always a smart idea, and changing the oil and filter every 5,000 miles is a terrific place to start. I sincerely hope you enjoy your brand-new Cross and discover a wealth of useful data on the forum!
