Is there a Toyota Crossover that does have a passenger side adjustment to make the seat go up/down? Thank you. The cushion method won't work for our backs.
Is there a Toyota Crossover that does have a passenger side adjustment to make the seat go up/down? Thank you. The cushion method won't work for our backs. There has been some confusion with both of your questions. All models have height adjustable driver's seat (not your question) and no models offer a height adjustable passenger seat. An option I use when I have a passenger who is sensitive to the difference: I lower mine a bit and offer the a cushion (I got a perfect fit and comfy one at Aldi market) to match our heights.
As for the break-in period, that doesn't necessarily have a relationship to fuel economy. The sort of slight difference that people sometimes notice (never the case for me across various new cars) shouldn't exceed maybe 10%, whereas what you saw was at least 50%! So after doing the test recommended by "J", if you are not close to the numbers offered on the window sticker this should be brought to the attention of the service department, maybe when you have --if they offer-- a first check at 1000 miles or 1 month.
Thank you so much! Yeah, it will be way too much, but I really appreciate your reply! The Highlander now offers it, but that of course comes with a much higher price point.
I think the C-HR might have it. It says the passenger seat move six ways so that would be up/down, fore and aft, recline forward and back.
Thank you!! sorry for the late reply! I will look into it!I think the C-HR might have it. It says the passenger seat move six ways so that would be up/down, fore and aft, recline forward and back.
Hello, I just bought a Corolla Cross and am experiencing these same issues with gas milage. Did yours ever go up? I am getting 20 mpg, and when I turned of the eco more, I got 10-11 mpg! Also, the passenger seat..big groan. Were you able to resolve it? My elderly mother is using random cushions, but they are such a pain. I believe I saw on this message board that there are "spacers" that can raise the seat up? Have you heard if this before? Thank you!Hi everyone. After ordering a CC in January, finally received it mid April. Have never bought a car without a test drive so this whole process is new to me. Overall I like the car but there are two concerns for me. My car came with a full tank of gas and now I just filled it up. The mileage states it is getting about 17-18 mpg. Some people have told me there is a "break in " period for the engine before you see the great mileage. Is this true and has anyone experienced this also?
Second the passenger seat seats very low. I do not see anyway to raise it. Am I missing something? Other than I love the car. I got silver.d
Oh boy...you can eye room me as much as you would like! How do I reset the milage screen? I am coming from an 06 Tacoma, that didn't even have a back up camera. Go easy one me here! = ) Also, where do I buy spacers? I am not familiar with this. THANK YOU soooo much!!!Tracy…..Did you reset the mileage screen after you bought it? It may be reflecting it’s movement around the lot….which would be low mpg.
Spacers were suggested when I was thinking about buying a Scion iM. I think those would work for permanently raising the seat. Be careful not to raise it too high that it results in head bumping when entering.
You could have your Mom enter and exit the driver side to see the best height to permanently set the passenger seat. Keep the driver seat at that height and have whoever does the spacers match that.
Hello, this is very kind of you to help me so much. Right now I am away from my home for a few days, and do not have my Cross. Cross what I vaguely remember, I did use the steering wheel controls to reset the milage. I only did that the third day I owned the vehicle, but I don't think the mpg on the infotainment screen changed. I put the car back on Eco mode. Regarding the spacers: If I were to modify the seat, I cannot not do it, but I want it done professionally of course. Do dealerships do this, or do I have to take it to a independent shop? Any thoughts? Thank you!Resetting your mileage screen would be spelled out in your manual. I don’t have a Cross so someone who does can guide you too.
I suggest going to a dealer to raise the passenger seat, mainly because I can’t find Cross specific risers yet. Plus if you have to remove the seats ,you have to be very careful by disconnecting the battery first to not set off air bags while unplugging wires under the seat.
You might be able to put the spacers in without removing the seat. If I lived nearby, I might be able to help you sort it out.🙂
I ams having the same issue on gas milage. My Cross had 330 miles, and getting the same mpg as you are. Regarding the oil change, the you tube channel "Car Car Nut" recommends an oil change at 1,000 miles. He's a Toyota Master mechanic.I'm having the same issue. I got mine Crorolla Cross AWD LE around April and my average MPG is between18- 19 is it normal? I'm currently is 970miles. How long does it take to break in the car and do I need to have an oil change around 1k? Please help.
Thank you so much!!I believe at 1000 miles for the initial "break in period" where the most wear could occur. At least thats the way I understood it.
This is good to know. I'm at 530 miles now and am only getting approx 23 mpg.Hi I was getting about 23 to 25 when I first got my Cross. After the first oil change at 5K something changed MPG went up to 31 to 35 mpg a welcomed change. Not sure why this happened maybe break in oil IDK.
I just crossed 1,500 miles on my FWD XLE and am regularly getting 32-35 MPG in mostly suburban driving on two lane roads where the speed limit is 50 MPH or less. The ECO indicator in MID is almost always in the green area.
I am learning here..lots of questions for you! What is MID? How do I read the ECO indicator correctly? Also, how long will it take my car to show a much better MPG? Not sure if you will see this message, but I am wondering how you are liking your Cross these days. I am still getting poor gas milage and really disappointed in the drivers seat hight. Did you find a decent cushion? When friends ride in the Cross, the pillow moves all around. I recently read about a product called seat jackers, and will look into it.Hi everyone. Sorry...I stacked 2 seat cushions on the passenger's seat. I'll try wrapping a bungee cord them around the seat. I'm getting 23-25 mpg. About the seat spacers/washers; I need to find a good mechanic to put them in. Hopefully that will take care of the situation.By the "pillow" do you mean the seat cushion or the seat back? Neither should move around and sounds like an assembly error at the factory. Take it to the dealer and have it looked at. What is "poor gas mileage"? Are you getting anywhere near the EPA mileage rating?
My Cross is FWD, and I have not made it to 1000 yet. I am at approx 740 mi now. I only drive on flat streets, and a very small sloping hill, 3x a week. The slope/hill is only for maybe 6-7 minutes if that.1) what the terrain like where you live
2) did you drive conservatively for the first 1000 miles?
3) AWD or FWD?
many factors effect MPG....remember, they test these things in controlled environments...YMMV and usually do
