I just spoke with the local salesman and he says that the hybrids (not just the Cross but all of Toyota) are not being produced because they need more chips and this is still a major problem. Is anyone else hearing this? Is anyone seeing a Cross Hybrid at their dealer?

What I have found most helpful when determining if models are actually arriving is to check sites like CarGurus.com. When they appear there it does not mean they will show up immediately, but the sellers are being assigned their allotments. The listings will show VINs so they are actual specific vehicles.

Regarding availability of the 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid: the 2023 Corolla Cross configurator is now available on the Toyota dot com web site. On the configurator, it says that the Cross is available in "gas and hybrid *". The * is defined..."available late Spring 2023." I suspect the supply chain problem is the cause. Bummer...

2nd hand dealerships in South Africa are asking up to a 36% premium for 2021 Corolla Cross Hybrid models compared to the current listed price for a new one. The demand for the Cross hybrid is insatiable and the waiting period is currently just over a year. Supply and demand is obviously playing a role here. I suspect these cars will keep their value VERY well in the long term. I picked up mine this week and I am thoroughly impressed. The Prius just makes no sense at this point. The Corolla Cross is bigger and more practical, uses the identical hybrid drive system, and is only slightly less fuel efficient.
