Hello...here I am, doing my research on what car to buy and have run across this forum. I've been narrowing the field and am just about ready to take the leap and order a Cross. I have a 10 year old CRV that I love but it's starting to need a few things and good mechanics are hard to find where I am.

So...I need to get to the dealer, put my $1000 down and order my red Cross with light-colored interior. I see the L doesn't come in red, so I will go up to an LE. I was told "3 months" but after reading comments here, that may be optimistic.

I've never actually seen a Cross, much less driven one. There just aren't any around where I am. But I am a long-time Toyota fan, so I think I can trust that I'll like it. However, I could drive an hour and find one to look at and drive, which might be the better idea.

It's fun to find a group of like-minded humans. I'm sure I will learn a lot from you.

I ordered a 2022 Cross last year and it took over four months before it arrived. I had not saw one or had an opportunity to drive one prior. We're Toyota people and also have a Rav4 and a Tacoma. So far the Cross is a great car. I don't have anything to complain about. We just recently saw a couple other Crosses in our NC area. Production and delivery has picked up a lot. The model and options you choose can impact the delivery time. It took little longer for mine because I was decided on a certain color, sunroof, etc. Take the leap and go for it. I don't think you will be sorry!

I ordered mine Nov 2021 and received it May 2022(6 months). I got the Barcelona Red LE AWD, without seeing the color in person and hadn't seen any on the road at the time. When I first saw the car unprepped, I was not impressed with the color. When I went to pickup the car when ready it looked better. As I like red , all my cars have been red when possible. Its not a popping red, it has no sparkles/flakes in the color.

TCross: Thanks for your words of encouragement. I think the closest one is about 1 1/2 hours from here (not 1 hour as I'd hoped) and I really don't want to drive that far. So maybe I will just leap. :)

It's great to have you here as you research your next car purchase. It sounds like you're leaning towards the Cross and have even decided on the color and interior. Ordering a car can be an exciting experience, and we hope you enjoy the process.
It's always a good idea to test drive a car before making a final decision. Driving an hour to see one in person may be worth it to ensure that it's the right fit for you. As for the wait time, it's always best to prepare for a longer wait than initially quoted, just in case.
