My wing mirrors unfold when I press the unlock on the key fob and fold when I press lock. Unfortunately, it was a dealer set option, which I requested before leaving with my then new purchase.

You are in S. Africa - so likely different options for different parts of the world. Not an option on the USA models, AFAIK.

I'm just exploring all the features. After manual fold worked, I thought I should be able to unfold through a button or by starting the engine.

Not a common option on the more basic cars/suvs - even w/the top trim level. RAV4s don't have power folding mirrors, either. Lexus models probably do or have more models that do. More common on European and other areas of the world where space is at a premium - think tight parking spaces, etc.
