1st Oil Change

I have a 2023 Corolla Cross.
Should I change my oil on the 1st 5000 miles?
Some people suggested to do it's first oil change on 1000 miles due to the break in period manufacturer metal debris that could harm the engine which is not written in the manual.
Thank you.

I did the 1,000 mile oil change. I went to a reputable local mechanic, and he seemed a tad surprised. He did the oil change anyways. I am holding on to my receipts.
I am in the Toyota Service Dealer.
They said, I do not need an Oil Change at 1000 miles.
My 1st Service should be 5000miles which Tire Rotation.
My 1st Oil Change should be done on 10,000 miles.

I was pushy and I told them that I still want it because of the break in period due to the metal debris and I still want to make an oil change.

And so they ended changing my oil still.

Good news! I am glad you pushed it. = )
Keep in mind. I was told that there are only 2 Free Service Maintenance to the car so I am thinking to do the next oil change outside. Buying the oil and oil cap in Toyota Dealer and do the oil change outside.
